So the darkness shall be the light, and the stillness the dancing.
T.S. Eliot
To know yourself as the Being underneath the thinker, the stillness underneath the mental noise, the love and joy underneath the pain, is freedom, salvation, enlightenment.
Eckhard Tolle
Read this sentence and then stop, close your eyes and take three deep breaths.
As we approach the solstice on Sunday December 21, we are entering into the deepest darkness of the year. The new moon occurs on the same day. Contrary to the busyness of our holidays, the natural cycle of this time of year is one of entering into the quiet within ourselves.
This week, spend some time honoring the dark skies above and the stillness within. It’s there, that inner stillness. It may be hidden beneath to do lists and shoulds, but it is there, within your heart and mind. Take some time to enter into the natural quiet of the season.
Give yourself the gift of stillness.
Solstice blessings,
Cathy
