• The Power Of Play

Arnold J. Toynbee said, “The supreme accomplishment is to blur the line between work and play.” Last Sunday at the Pathways Natural Living Expo we did just that as Larry LoBianco and I enjoyed meeting the wonderful people who stopped by our booth and who attended our workshop, or rather playshop!

In our respective lines of work as psychotherapist and shamanic practitioner, we are super serious about healing—healing ourselves and being the clearest conduits we can be in our healing work with others. We also know that healing happens as the heart lightens, as the mind clears, as the body sings. What better way for heart, mind, and body to naturally and easily embrace healing than through play.

And so we played! We played kazoos creating what we are pretty sure was the first ever Natural Living Expo Kazoo Orchestra. We clapped in a call and response pattern, creating strong energy in our hands and learned how to focus that energy for healing. We chanted, creating vibration throughout our bodies. We danced to “Happy” and further raised our individual and collective energy levels. Then we shared our experiences with the group.

We look forward to bringing more Playshops to the Expo, to our families, and to the people we work with. (Thank you to our family members who came out to play with us: Joe, Chris, Shannon, Marguerite and to dear friend Rosa. Your support means so much to us!)

Don’t wait for the next Expo to join us in play. What do you love to do? What makes your heart sing? Give yourself with the gift of play!
