THERAPY WITH ADULTS
What can you expect in counseling? Counselors help people address problems, improve relationships, accept reality, and develop the mindset and skills to make decisions and enact changes. You may feel ashamed or embarrassed to talk about some aspects of your life. Clients tell me they appreciate my being non-judgmental regarding their lives and the things they talk about. As you share, you can identify what you want to change as well as determine what you can learn to accept. Acceptance and change are both amazingly healing!
Most sessions are spent engaging in direct, practical, healing conversations as noted above. In addition, I have many years of experience with practices that support personal growth including: meditation, QiGong and Yoga, journaling, guided imagery, body awareness, and energy medicine (Donna Eden and Brain Gym).
